My studies center around art and communication along with community engagement. I am especially interested in my art because it allows me to illustrate my creative expression along with public speaking that prepares me for my future career that is based on communication and interaction. Recently, I hosted a forum with my school's Black Student Union to speak against a potential proposal to split up schools within the district affecting learning for all students. This taught me the importance of speaking up for what I believe in and the value of a student's perspective. In the future, I will major in communication disorder sciences to pursue a career in Speech-language pathology. I consider myself a visual learner, and look forward to transforming the world around me as I continue along my journey.
